About our Head & Eye Protection
Head protection comes in two kinds, and they are not interchangeable. A safety helmet to EN 397 protects against falling objects and is what construction sites require. A bump cap to EN 812 is a baseball-style cap with a hard shell inside that protects against knocks on low beams, pipes and vehicle underbodies; it is not a substitute for a helmet where anything can fall.
Eye protection is rated under EN 166. Safety spectacles protect against flying particles, and goggles seal around the eyes against dust and splashes. This page also has Result's hi-viz cap and Portwest's beanie with a rechargeable LED head light for dark mornings.

Can I wear a bump cap on a building site?
Not where a hard hat is required. A bump cap to EN 812 protects against knocks on fixed objects, not falling ones. Construction sites need a safety helmet to EN 397.
How long does a safety helmet last?
Follow the maker's guidance printed in the helmet. Replace a shell straight away after any significant impact, even if it looks undamaged.
Can you print a logo on a bump cap?
Yes. Bump caps take a printed or embroidered logo on the front, like any cap.
